Romanesco

Romanesco

So,

Hubby comes home with this veggie.  Had no clue what it was or how to cook it!

It looks and smells like Broccoli or cauliflower.  A pretty looking veg, as you can see.

Pressed for time I cooked it as I always do my Broccoli:
  1. Rinse and put in a glass bowel with lid in microwave. 5-6 minutes on High.
  2. For those of us who have the use of one hand. Remove stem and leaves after cooking with a knife. It is easier to cut when cooked.
  3. Add butter or margarine ,  black pepper and salt to taste.
Next day I Googled  and found these interesting facts:
  • Named Romanesco broccoli or cabbage.
  • Originally grown in Italy during the 16th century.
  • Hi in vitamin C and iron.
  • Prevents Cancer
  • Generates a healthy skin.
  • Has a nutty flavour.

I did some research and decided to try my own idea as recipe:

INGREDIANT'S

3.Olives Black pips removed
4.Sundried Tomatoes
5.Chilli
6.Garlic
7.Crutons
8.Lemon juice
9.Drop of honey
10.Olive oil

METHOD:

  2. Fry with sundried tomatoes, olives, garlic and chilli in a little oil.
  3. dish up and let cool a little
  4. Now add feta, lemon juice, honey (add very little lemon juice and honey).
  5. Lastly the crutons.
And......... WALAH!
